Fusion Youth

Student ministry is alive and well at SWC. We are about equipping and training young people to grow and thrive in God while living in the real world. It’s our purpose to inspire students to impact their environment and reach out to those around them with the message of God’s love. At SWC, students can find a place where they are known, challenged and encouraged in their walk with the Lord.

Fusion youth ministry is led by Pastor Christine Martin and Tim Bakies.  Fusion gathers on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM in 201 for their mid-week service.  Their UPS Human Video/Drama Troupe meets at 5:30 PM in the sanctuary and is led by Tim Bakies.  Each Fusion service is a mixture of live worship, biblical teaching and relational connections, specifically designed for Middle School and Sr. High students.

31 Days of Fun

Believe it or not, it’s almost July.  That means that it’s time for the triumphant return of 31 Days of Fun at Fusion Youth.  It’s 31 days of activities or social media connections every day that month.  Contact us at for more information. Here’s how it all begins:

Saturday, July 1st: Awake Prayer Night @SWC & Ice Cream Afterparty

Sunday, July 2nd: Lunch w/the Fusion Family after church

Monday, July 3rd:  IHOP Night @PV Mall

Tuesday, July 4th:  Home on the Way Outreach

Wednesday, July 5th:  Twin Day

Thursday, July 6th:  Fusion Invasion:  Fusion goes to The Refuge service

Friday, July 7th:  Renew Worship Night

Saturday, July 8th:  Star Wars Appreciation Day:  post your best SW post on social media

Sunday, July 9th:  Bowling Night!

UPS Drama Team

Creative arts are a powerful way to express the message of the Gospel.  The UPS (Uniquely Presenting Salvation) Drama team is open to students in 7th-12th grade, and they’re led by Tim Bakies.  During the school year, UPS meets for practice on Wednesday nights at 5:30 PM in the main sanctuary.

Each summer Fusion Youth attends a Winter and a Summer Youth Camp!  2016’s Summer Camp theme is “Fully Persuaded”.  2016 camp was held in the Ojai Valley in Oak View California.  Check out the camp facility.

Camp cost covers all meals, activities, camp ground, transportation and a T-shirt.  We generally have some sponsorships and other opportunities for students to earn money toward their camp cost that help cover the cost.  We are praying that we’ll have more scholarships and opportunities in future years.
