Prayer

There are multiple ways you can get involved with intercession and the ministry of prayer. Intercessors at SWC pray regularly for the needs of the church community and beyond, and there are all-church prayer gatherings throughout the year. In I Thessalonians 5:17, Paul exhorts us to “pray always.” Rather than a task to do, prayer makes every part of our lives an opportunity to receive life-giving connection and interaction with our God.

What if?

What if the prayer I have been praying doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere?

What if I asked someone else to pray for my request, someone who may have been in this same position and is more aware of God’s interest and involvement?

What if my prayers for someone else gave me hope and faith for my own needs?

What if more than one of us prayed for the same thing, would it have greater effect?

What if I’m not sure that I am praying according to God’s will?

On Sunday, July 3rd, we joined with churches around the country for A Call to Fall, seeking God and praying for our nation.

SWC Intercessors

Prayer is an important part of the SWC community.  Intercessors pray regularly for the needs of the church family and beyond.  They are notified about prayer requests throughout the week via email.  This group of Prayer Partners is led by Roberta Stultz.

Leave a prayer request or praise report for the Prayer Team.

All-Church Prayer Gathering

Throughout the year at the beginning of every month, SWC gathers for prayer together.   This is a comfortable setting and there is time for personal reflection as well as corporate prayer, though there is no pressure to pray in front of the group.  This monthly gathering is in the sanctuary from 5 pm-6 pm on the first Saturday of every month.
