June 7, this Sunday, we will be gathering on campus again! We can't wait to see you!

What do you mean?

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN, TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS?”
When we read the Psalms, we learn all about the “wicked”.  Then we read the news paper or see the news and we hear about a lot of wicked ways.  I find it is rather easy to think of myself as “pretty OK”.  I have the 10 commandments well covered.  Then I read about David and his cry to the Lord to “create in me a clean heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.(Psalms 51:10) or his desire to approach the Lord with clean hands and a pure heart (Psalms 24:4).

Then a friend read the following during a prayer call and I was undone.

Many times as believers we think we’re doing ok but Lord forgive us for the sins of pride and some of the things that may not be sins but we have failed to keep our first love for you and have shortchanged you.  Forgive us Lord for prideful barriers in our heart; for being unwilling to listen to you God, and others, being performance oriented, jumping to conclusions, murmuring, embellishing, being defensive, one way conversations, seeing ourselves as better, desire for ease and comfort over what God wants of us, striving for control, being presumptuous, failing to see our part in broken relationships that we may be part of the problem, striving for self-esteem when instead we need to look at our sense of significance because we have been created by the Creator of the Universe and redeemed by the blood of Jesus,  worry, hard-heartedness, unwilling to change, stubbornness, strife, self-exaltation, pride of knowledge, treating and thinking of others less than ourselves, taking our freedom in your Lord and freedom of our nation for granted, giving you our leftovers, not having our priorities in order, not sharing the gospel and having idols by placing things and people before you Lord.

Thank God for Jesus shed blood and His never changing Word: (1John 1:9) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

As we pray for ourselves, our family, our Church, our Nation, our World we have confidence in this very thing that He that has begun a good work will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).  Thank you, Lord, our faith and trust are in you, our Saviour, King of Kings, Creator, Alpha and Omega, Beloved, Lord of Lords  and Soon Coming King.………
