I Love You
By Andrew Cascio
“I love you, Lord, my strength.”
Psalms 18:1 NIV
What a great reminder from David, God’s beloved, a man after his own heart. Now this isn’t part of a prayer, but I definitely see it as something to praise and thank God for. Many times when we pray we pray for wants and needs. Perhaps ours, perhaps others. Which is ok. We definitely need to go to God and pray for people and for ourselves as well. However part of prayer is worship and praise. I believe this is what David is doing here. He says I love you Lord, you are my strength. He recognizes that God is his strength and that he cannot do it on his own. He’s giving him praise and thanks for being by his side. He tells him he Loves him! How often do we pray and forget the simple things? We forget to take a second to step back and say “God, I Love you!” Something that we should all definitely remember and work into our daily prayers. Lord thank you for loving me the way you do. I love you and thank you for all that you do for me, you are my strength, and I appreciate you for helping me and being there for me, not just when I need you, but all the time! Im so thankful that God loves us enough to give us his Word, for inspiring David to write these words to help us to remember how great he is to us, and to remind us he wants a relationship with us. We love you Lord and thank you for loving us.
