GENEROSITY

GENEROSITY

Last Sunday Pastor Chris was talking about the spirit of generosity, and the blessings found in investing in the Kingdom of God. During these tough times, with our gas and grocery prices on the rise, this can be challenging. We might find ourselves praying, "Well Father, help me know how to deal with this situation."

Back to the Word...(Philippians 4:19) My God will supply all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus) . We must reinforce our understanding in the primary promise of His provision for those who love and trust Him. It is imperative that we call on Jehovah Jireh (the Lord will provide) to be all He has promised to be for His family. His promises and provision have not changed. It is our trust and confidence in believing His Word that needs to be strengthened in our personal relationship and fellowship. His sovereignty and omnipresence have not changed, He is still King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Eternal Master of Everything. So, we cannot afford NOT to be generous with all that He has already provided, even when threatened with shortages and difficult times. The enemy has no influence over God’s abundance and plentiful blessings. It’s time to count our blessings instead of our fears. I feel like Father is encouraging us to “invest in the Kingdom of God and you will never be disappointed with the returns.

Recently I learned a very important lesson. After shopping for groceries, a woman stopped me and asked for help to feed her family. This happens quite often and I have a standard answer “sorry I have no cash” which is true. This same woman had asked me last week. So, I was ready for her. Well, later the idea came to me (thank you Holy Spirit) that I had really missed the Lord’s leading. “Silver and Gold have I none but such as I have give I thee.” I may not have cash to give her, but I could have introduced her to the Living Bread. I have repented and am now confessing. I ask now, “Lord give me another chance and the courage to be a living witness of Jesus, The Way the Truth and the Life."
